FIRE + RESCUE NSW SPORTS ASOCIATION

THERE’S A CLUB FOR EVERYONE

Fire + Rescue NSW Sports Association encourages all forms of sport and athletics, both indoor and outdoor, for the benefit of serving and retired members of Fire & Rescue NSW and other Emergency Services. We also oversee a wide spectrum of different sporting activities. These have included sports such as whaler boat sailing and tug of war in the 1930’s. More recently we have clubs regularly competing in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Soccer, Hockey, Athletics, Swimming, Golf, Cricket, Surfing, and Lawn Bowls competitions.

The Association also oversees members competing in local, interstate and international competitions like the World Police and Firefighter Games, The World Firefighter Games and the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games.

The World Police and Fire Games are normally a popularly attended event with World Police & Fire Games been held biennially in the following cities around the world :-San Diego, California(1987); Vancouver, Canada (1989); Memphis, Tennessee (1991); Colorado Springs, Colorado (1993); Melbourne, Australia (1995); Calgary, Canada (1997); Stockholm, Sweden (1999); Indianapolis, Indiana (2001); Barcelona, Spain (2003); Quebec City, Canada (2005); Adelaide, South Australia (2007); British Columbia, Canada(2009); New York City, New York (2011); Belfast, North Ireland (2013); Fairfax County, Virginia (2015); and Los Angeles, California (2017); with upcoming Games in Chengdu, China (2019).

Fire + Rescue NSW has in the past seen many worlds champions or international representatives come out of it ranks in all types of sports such as Lawn Bowls, Swimming, Rugby League, Olympics, Surfing, Cycling and Hockey to name a few.

This site will track our performance in the many sports we compete in and provide details of how to enter the events, provide information on the results of those competitions or how to contact the key organizers if you have any queries.
