FRNSW Rugby League Club

FRNSW Rugby League Club re-started in 2009 after a long break and now has over 80 members. The Club comprises an opens team which competes in invite and exhibition matches as well as an over 35 ‘masters’ team which competes in an organised master’s competition. The club can also play games against other services such as the Army, Navy and Police. The club’s Open Team also competes against Correctional Services on a regular basis for the memorial “Chris Fuller Cup”. Chris was a member of both organisations and a member of the Rugby League Club before his passing.

The club also plays a State of Origin style series against Queensland Fire and Rescue with games held rotating between both states on a yearly basis. This contest started with the team from Queensland Fire Brigade playing a NSW Fire Brigades (Fire & Rescue NSW) team in an opening game before the first actual State of Origin game in 1980.

Rugby League membership is open to all Fire + Rescue employees and their families. Please contact one of the members for further information.
