Fire + Rescue Soccer Club

Club History

The FRNSW Football (Soccer) Club was formally established as a fully affiliated club in 2003 (affiliated to FRNSW Sports Association).

The Soccer Club had a previous history of semi regular inter service games which has long afforded great camaraderie and promoted soccer within the fire brigades unit.

Current

The club currently fields teams in Open Men’s, Open Women’s and Senior’s (Over 35s), Indoor Soccer or Futsal events, and has an active membership of over 100.

The clubs main competitions are the biannual NSW Police Games and Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games along with semi regular appearances at the local Emergency Services Games and Australian Defence Force Games. We have also fielded teams in the World Police & Fire Games, World Firefighter Games, World Masters Games and various charity based days (e.g. ‘Big Issue’ Street Soccer – charity floating pitch Soccer).

The affiliated soccer club membership fee is $2.00 per fortnight, which will cover the purchase of uniforms and balls, and the hiring of fields and referees. Reimbursement for some registration fees are also paid after events are finalised.
